Intense takes away your stress at night for a blissful, deep rest.
A tale of two hormones
The alternating presence of the hormones cortisol and melatonin is crucial for our body’s natural day-night rhythm.
Balance
Melatonin production is regulated by the body’s internal clock and acts as a messaging system to signify the arrival of nightfall. Cortisol is the hormone that our body produces to make us active in the morning and to keep us going during the day.
In a normal, healthy rhythm, these two hormones cortisol and melatonin) engage in a balanced dance over the course of a 24 hour period. The hormones keep each other in balance during this period: when cortisol is rising, melatonin declines and vice versa.
A disturbed balance between cortisol and melatonin can cause sleeping problems.
Body voltage and cortisol
A sleeping body easily charges up to high voltages. Research has shown that high body voltage stimulates the production of cortisol. High cortisol levels often cause insomnia and sleep disruption.
How Intense solves this problem
The Intense mattress fabric uses the Nega-Stat® trilobal carbon thread to capture the electrons and release them into the air (without grounding the mattress).
The voltage and tension literally flows away from the body, resulting in a lower cortisol level for a deeper and more relaxing sleep.
